War

Things in my life are going really well right now. God is showing me some awesome things and doing some amazing things in my life. I have a beautiful girlfriend who rocks my world. School is back in full-swing, and I'm currently in a class with my favorite professor, Tom Shetler.

I've experienced many highs like this in my life. But there is a difference to this one: I'm prepared. I'm prepared for the fact that it is at our high points where Satan likes to take us out. He waits until things are going really well for us and we lower our guards... then he shoots an arrow right at your heart and knocks you to the ground.

It's not paranoia I'm experiencing right now. It's war. Now, more than ever, I need to fast, pray, and dig into the Word. I need to put on the armor of God and go on the offensive against the enemy before he has a chance to surround me. It's a war-zone out there. I have to be prepared. So do you.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.
--Ephesians 6:10-18 (ESV)
